Graeme Laver offers voiced fears over the vaccine’s effectiveness. Dr. Laver has warned it’ll do little to prevent a flu epidemic in Britain this winter, and says he believes it ought not to be relied upon to safeguard from a potentially severe flu epidemic. The Australian scientist claims that people’s lives could be saved if medications such as Tamiflu and Relenza were used instead, once the disease has recently struck. Dr. Laver suggests both prescription-only drugs should be sold over the counter so they were more easily available to flu victims. Laver says the seasonal flu was severe in Australia this year and the number of flu victims tripled compared to last year. His feedback lend support to a recently available study by medical Protection Company which discovered the vaccine acquired no protecting effect on lowering amounts of seniors admitted to hospital with respiratory infections..Related StoriesUCSF research on mood disorders aims to advance understanding and treatment of depressionAdvances entirely mount human brain imaging: an interview with Patrick Myles, President, Huron Digital PathologyBrain's hippocampus essential for recognizing previously encountered eventsWelsh Government Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Research Edwina Hart stated: Our Science for Wales technique has clearly highlighted the need for Wales to earn its share of competitive external study and development funding so I am delighted to see Cardiff University secure its 100th award under the European Union’s primary research funding scheme.
